I've never heard of Squidoo before today; but apparently it's a user-generated website that allows "lensmasters" to have web space to discuss 35 different "lenses".

I don't know. Don't ask me! But apparently Seth Godin started it so it can be bad. (He rocks). Per Seth, lenses"[focus] light and [show] us what we need to see." They're like blog posts, though on a single subject.
Still don't totally get it.
Per Squidoo, being a lensmaster will increase increase your traffic, get you on the first page of Google Search, earn you affiliate cash, dramatically increase your list, AND last but not least, earn you payouts directly from Squidoo
Ok getting interesting.
The site also generates revenue from affiliate links and shares 50% with their lensmasters.
